The saying, “we teach what we most want to learn” explains Cindy Grimes’ passion for Centers for Spiritual Living. In addition to being a Licensed Spiritual Counselor since 2009, Cindy has been an entrepreneur, social worker, teacher, editor, magazine publisher and workshop facilitator. The common thread in her varied experiences is the desire to empower people with understanding and practical skills to overcome life challenges and make the most of their God-given talents and abilities. “This teaching and the genuine love of my spiritual community has allowed me to transform my life’s challenges into great gifts…I can’t help but share it with others,” says the wife and mother.

rev-_vicky_woodsRev. Victoria Woods
Rev. Vicky’s love for Centers for Spiritual Living and her desire to become an ordained minister in the philosophy motivated her to drive over 100,000 miles while completing her ministerial training. Rev. Vicky Woods has served as OakBrook’s Pastoral care minister for over 24 years. At any given time, she may be found in a hospital waiting room, rehab facility, nursing home, Hospice or anywhere else OakBrook members may be when they are in need of prayer and pastoral care support. Her 34-year nursing career serves her well in this role and adds to her most endearing gift…the ability to see when someone is going through a difficult time and provide comfort. Rev. Vicky invites prayer requests and asks you to call when you need prayer support.

Rev. Gayle Reuter                                        Originally from Evanston, Illinois, I moved to California and was introduced to Religious Science in 1984. I began class work immediately, becoming a Practitioner in 1988 and a minister in 1992.  I often check in with myself by asking two fundamental questions: Why am I absolutely committed to the teachings of Religious Science and lately, Why have I chosen to make Oakbrook CSL my spiritual home?  Religious Science has released in me the freedom to be myself. It has opened my eyes to a way of seeing life as divine connection which holds all creation in love and peace. Spiritual Mind Treatment is the greatest gift I have ever been given. These Affirmative Prayers reveal healing and wholeness in all things. Oakbrook CSL is a place of belonging and acceptance. I find here the consciousness of community, the support , encouragement , and teaching that moves me forward  on my spiritual journey.  My vision is to minister and teach from a place of inner acceptance, love and spaciousness that supports each person who comes to me to find their own truth.

ken_greenKen Green, RScP
Ken says: “As I look back on my life, I realize I’ve done everything I’ve ever wanted to do”. Ken Green is a New England native, born and raised in Massachusetts. High School held little interest for the restless youth. Instead of graduating, he traveled the world, courtesy of the United States Air Force (1947-1956). While serving in the military, Ken found that he loved travelling, particularly the time he spent in Saudi Arabia and Germany. Upon his return to the States, Ken picked up his education where he left off, graduating from Boston University and receiving a law degree. He practiced law for a year and a half before embarking upon a sales career in which he helped other attorneys utilize their law books, making them more effective in their work. He was really attracted to the Teaching from the beginning and felt a special meaning for him; that having lived a life of service could be combined with learning by taking courses which ended up with the Practitioner training. He feels this is exactly what was supposed to happen.
